Someone that I feel that reflects the type of fashion brand that I would develop would be Lauren Conrad. “Lauren Conrad was born and raised in Laguna Beach, California. She was the star of MTV’s hit series Laguna Beach and The Hills.” (http://www.laurenconrad.com)
“In 2011 she launched a third line called paper crown. It is tailored for the contemporary market and consists of feminine dresses both short and long, menswear inspired basics, as well as tops and bottoms. The debut collection consists of key pieces made in silk charmeuse, chiffon and stretch wovens.” (http://www.laurenconrad.com)
“Additionally Lauren has added best selling “author” to her resume, signing multiple book deals with Harper Collins. Lauren’s first novel, “L.A. Candy” debuted #1 on the New York Times Best Seller List for over a month. Her second book, “Sweet Little Lies” was released on February 2, 2010 and also hit number one on the NY Times Best Seller list. The third book in the series, “Sugar and Spice” was released in October 2010 the same day Lauren released “Lauren Conrad Style” which is a style guide for young women. Both books were instant NY Times Best sellers. She has since signed another book deal for another series titled “The Fame Game” which released in April 2012 and recently announced “Lauren Conrad Beauty”, a guide to all things beauty.” (http://www.laurenconrad.com)
“She has had endorsement deals with Hasboro, AT&T, Mark Cosmetics and Sony—to name a few. Lauren has made appearances on talk shows such as the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tyra Banks Show, Live with Regis and Kelly, and Rachael Ray. She has also been seen in numerous publications such as USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Businessweek, WWD and Forbes as one of the top 100 celebrities and has graced the covers of Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Shape, Allure, Elle, Rollingstone, Teen Vogue, Seventeen Magazine and CosmoGIRL, to name a few. In addition Lauren developed and runs two successful websites, LaurenConrad.com and thebeautydepartment.com. Both are ways that Lauren continues to expand the brand and stay in direct contact with her supportive fan base.” (http://www.laurenconrad.com)
Her experiences have helped her develop a brand because she got an internship while she was starring in the show The Hills. I think this sparked her interest in the fashion industry and inspired her to create her own line. In the future I think that her brand will expand and she will come up with new lines. I also think she could write another book about fashion.
